Every installer is signed. The first time you dictate, your computer asks for microphone access; on a Mac, setup also asks for Accessibility and Input Monitoring so VoiceSnap Pro can type into other apps.
From download to your first dictation
Three steps, and the second one takes about ten seconds.
Download and install
Pick the installer for your computer. On a Mac, open the .dmg and drag VoiceSnap Pro into Applications. On Windows, run the installer.
Sign in with Google or an email code
Use your Google account, or type your email address and enter the one-time code we send. There is no password to set and no card to enter, and your free allowance is ready straight away.
Hold the shortcut and speak
Setup walks you through microphone access and your shortcut. Then hold Right Option on a Mac or Right Alt on Windows, speak, and let go. The text lands where your cursor is.

System requirements
VoiceSnap Pro runs on recent versions of macOS and Windows, on the hardware most people already have.
macOS
- macOS 13 Ventura or later
- Apple silicon (M1 and newer) or Intel, with a separate download for each
- About 300 MB of free disk space
- Microphone access, plus Accessibility and Input Monitoring so it can type into other apps; setup asks for each
Windows
- Windows 11, or Windows 10 version 21H2 and newer
- A 64-bit (x64) PC
- About 300 MB of free disk space
- Windows asks for microphone access the first time you dictate
Both platforms need
A working microphone
The built-in one is fine in a quiet room. A headset or USB mic gives the transcriber a cleaner signal in an open office, which shows up as fewer corrections.
About 300 MB of free disk space
That is the app itself. The library grows with what you capture: optional dictation history keeps text on your computer, while voice notes can keep compressed recordings, roughly 11 MB per hour of speech, unless you choose not to keep them. The app keeps at most about 500 MB of note recordings cached on disk.
An internet connection
Transcription runs in the cloud, so VoiceSnap Pro needs to be online while you speak. Nothing you dictate is used to train AI models.

Before you download
Free to start. Every new account gets a one-time free allowance of 20 minutes of transcription (dictation and voice notes combined, shared across your devices), 50 AI actions and up to 20 notes, with every feature and no card. It does not reset. The Pro plan removes the limits for $18 a month or $108 a year.
Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If it lists a Chip, such as Apple M1 or later, download the Apple silicon build. If it lists a Processor made by Intel, download the Intel build. Both need macOS 13 Ventura or later.
Yes, so your voice notes, personal vocabulary and settings follow you between computers. You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. There is no password to create.
From inside the app, whenever you are ready. Checkout is handled by Polar, our merchant of record, and you can cancel any time from the customer portal. There is no trial to remember to cancel: the free allowance is the trial.
Yes. Sign in with the same account on each of your computers. On the free allowance, your minutes, AI actions and notes are shared across them; the Pro plan covers up to 3 devices, Mac and Windows in any mix.
VoiceSnap Pro updates itself. It checks for a new version shortly after it opens and every few hours after that, downloads it in the background, and installs it when you quit or choose Restart to Update. Every release is listed in the changelog.
They stay yours. Your notes stay readable and editable whether or not you subscribe, and they stay in your account until you delete them.
No. Transcription needs an internet connection, so your audio is sent to be turned into text, but it is not kept as training data and it is not sold. A dictation's audio is discarded once the text comes back, and its text stays on your computer. The privacy policy, linked in the footer of every page, is the long version.
